Hello everyone,
CAMH has launched a national online course on immigrant and refugee mental health.
It seems that there are two streams of the online course: one for settlement and social service providers, and another for health service providers.
More information about the course can be found below (info taken from an email I received from the Canadian Council for Refugees listserv).
Also, the course website is: https://irmhp-psmir.camhx.ca/courses
Registration for April 2019: http://bit.ly/irmhcourse
Here's more info about the course:
"The 6-week, self-directed course features essential background information, such as the social determinants of health and mental disorders in sub-populations. It showcases promising practices, tools, and resources that organizations across Canada have developed and have expertise in. Finally, it’s been made even more interactive than the previous course; there are over 40 videos, quizzes in each module, graphs, activities, and a community of practice for service providers to learn from each other and from experts in the field.
In addition to the course, the project offers other tools and resources, including webinars, toolkits, newsletters and a community of practice. These are all designed to enhance providers’ knowledge, develop their skills, and build their network. Service providers can visit the IRMHP website to learn more.
Course registration is full for 2018 but students can register for the April 2019 offering.
